Digital Collaboration is a programme for and by the Dutch maritime sector. Together with companies, public authorities and knowledge institutions, we’re working towards more efficient digital collaboration across the maritime value chain.
The Dutch maritime sector is facing major challenges. Ships are becoming increasingly complex, the climate transition requires innovation, and the sector must remain internationally competitive and reinforce its autonomy. This is only possible if organizations collaborate digitally in a smarter and more effective way.
That is why we develop joint agreements on how data can be shared securely, efficiently and in a reusable way. These agreements are gradually being laid down in a shared framework or ‘scheme’ (in Dutch: afsprakenstelsel). This helps organizations collaborate more effectively and learn from one another.
More complex vessels and more sustainable new propulsion systems call for more – and different approaches to – information exchange between chain partners. The availability of reliable, high-quality data is becoming increasingly important throughout the design, construction and operational phases.
Digital Collaboration supports this by organizing secure, efficient and reusable data sharing. This enables innovations to be applied in practice faster and more reliably.
Digital Collaboration is part of the Maritime Master Plan and is co-funded by the Dutch National Growth Fund.
